Center Stage Returns to Health Care for the Homeless with Twelfth Night

03.06.18

Somewhere in the throes of Shakespeare’s old-fashioned verses are timeless tales of love, friendship and silly shenanigans. And when it comes to his comedic work, we’re especially in for a treat.

We are excited to welcome back The Baltimore Center Stage Mobile Unit for a performance of Twelfth Night, one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies.

Set on the fictional island of Illyria, Twelfth Night follows a set of twins who, after narrowly escaping a shipwreck, are split up and left fending for themselves in a foreign land. But ever clever and pragmatic, the twins Viola and Sebastian go to great measures to stay alive, and sane, all the while fearing the other is dead. Hilarious scenes of mistaken identity and unlikely comradery ensue.

Health Care for the Homeless clients and staff are invited to see this one-hour production at 421 Fallsway, 2nd-floor group rooms on Wednesday, March 21, 1:30 p.m. For a pre-show discussion about the play’s themes and historical context, join us Monday, March 12, 1 p.m. in the 1st-floor art room at 421 Fallsway.
