Work with us.

Our mission is singular: to end homelessness. Our work is cross-agency, community-driven and collaborative. We support each other. We invest in every staff member’s professional aspirations and life success.  And every day we have the privilege of helping extraordinary individuals move toward health and stability.

We Support Each Other

It takes the expertise of all of our staff to meet the needs of our neighbors without homes and provide them with the highest quality care. To that end, we work together, within teams and across teams. Staff collaboration is both deliberate and a natural outgrowth of the collaborative culture and spirit of Health Care for the Homeless. We provide forums for staff members to share best practices, strategies and approaches to care, and staff members meet regularly to problem solve.

We Invest in Our Staff

We invest in every member of the Health Care for the Homeless staff, with:

  • Starting salaries of no less than $17 per hour
  • Excellent, affordable medical and dental insurance, and flexible spending plans
  • Generous paid time off
  • Retirement plans, including 401(A) Profit Sharing Plan that the agency has invested 3%-6% per year for the past several years with no employee match required; 403(B) Plan and a Roth IRA. We also provide all staff with free access to a professional retirement advisor.
  • Robust professional development budgets and five paid days for professional development
  • Reimbursement for licenses and certifications required for jobs
  • Reimbursement for staff members' school tuition and books, up to $5,000 per year
  • Participation in the National Health Service Corps and Maryland Loan Repayment Program
